Code of Conduct
All competitions are conducted in accordance with the rules laid down by the British Petanque Association. However, the JPA also expect members to adhere to the following code of behaviour.
Code of behaviour for players participating in Jersey Petanque Association Competitions
Players participating in any competition organised by the Jersey Petanque Association are required to abide by the following code of behaviour:
During all games player are expected
- To observe the correct uniform dress of the day. N.B. Reasonable dress is expected at all times, bare torsos and bare feet are not acceptable
- To refrain from using foul or abusive language to other players, officials and spectators.
- To accept without argument the decision of the Umpire and organising committees.
- To refrain from drinking alcohol to excess for the duration of the competition.
- To refrain from smoking or drinking on the terrains.
- To play and abide by the rules of the game as instructed by the organising committee and Umpire of the day.
- To ensure that supporters do not encroach on to the terrains or allow boule bags, glasses or other items to be put on the terrains.
- To switch off mobile phones for the duration of the game and to refrain from any behaviour or conduct that is distracting to other players.
Any player who is found to be in breach of the Code of Behaviour will be considered to be guilty of improper behaviour and the General Committee shall have the power to take appropriate disciplinary action.
