Vagabonds and Taylormade draw and Occidentals win Division Two in style!
Grouville join Wrinkleys in relegation places.
This week’s matches saw the conclusion of Division One, while in Division Two there is still one more set of matches to be completed on 29th March.
A fitting result perhaps was the draw between the Champions Vagabonds and runners-up Taylormade. Country Gang came out on top of the tussle between the four teams who fought against relegation and it was their 5-1 defeat of Grouville which clinched the exit of Grouville from Division One!
Les Hirondelles, who had been in one before last place, fought through to beat Outlaws (also 5-1), which left both Outlaws and Grouville on 10 points. However Outlaws stay up by virtue of their superior games difference of -8 to -12. So Grouville will be relegated along with Wrinkleys, who ironically beat third placed Coin Tourgis 4-2: only their second victory of the season, the first being the second match of the Winter season!
Division One winners - VAGABONDS
Meanwhile Occidentals concluded their season with a whitewash 6-0 against Falcons – a flourishing finish for the Division Two champions! Runners up Bean Around the Block dropped just one game to beat Grantez and Liberators win against Admirals moved them up to 4th place just below Wednesday Mob.
While Bean Around the Block can’t be caught in second place, Wednesday Mob have to take them on in the last match and Liberators play bottom team Fleur de Lys. A win for Liberators would put the pressure on Wednesday Mob who would need a win to hold on to third place – a draw would not do!
