Winter league report 13 January 2008
The Winter leagues have recommenced after the Festive Break, with some outstanding fixtures being completed and some interesting match results.
A decisive outstanding match against Admirals was won by Vagabonds 5-1 and this brought them back to the top of the league with Grouville. These two then played on 13 January and as in the previous match the result was a draw. However, Vagabonds take over prime position with a better games difference of +18 to +14.
Taylormade, who had held equal second place, were defeated 6-0 by Outlaws but hold onto third position. Coin Tourgis and Outlaws are both still each within a few points of the leaders. Last placed St Mary’s gained their second win against Admirals who are now just one point ahead of them.
Division Two leaders Pioneers lost to Bean Around the Block but are still currently at the top. However, three teams are tied one point behind them; Country Gang, Grantez and Les Hirondelles. Both Grantez and Les Hirondelles are strongly placed with one and two games in hand respectively. Also with games in hand, Bean Around the Block and Occidentals can’t be ruled out of the running either.
