Of the 19 players who have competed in the season, 10 competed in the minimum 4 events to qualify for the overall championship results. Of these 7 were in the ‘Under 11’ group and 3 in the ‘Under 16’.
There were very close finishes in each section, with the results on the final day making a difference to the winners.
Winner of the Under 11’s was James Lawrence with 10wins and a points difference of +47. Also winning 10 games (three of these today!) was Dominic Perez and he moved into runner up position with +34. Two players had 7 wins and this gave Gabriella Martin third place with +25 closely followed by Jessica Galley with -4. In fifth and sixth came Zachary Martin (+16) and Jade Perez (+13) each with 6 wins, and the final competitor to qualify was Wesley Bowen with 5 wins (-4).
Also taking part in this age group were: Cerys Thompson and Harry Dodge who attended two events and William McKerrell and Sammi Pinel who each played in one.
The convincing winner of the ‘Under 16’ group was Jacob Romeril who secured 12 wins and attended all 6 of the competitions. Jacob had a commendable +57 points difference. A very close race for runner up was won by Keely Guegan, who although not able to compete in the last event, had secured 8 wins with a +37. Despite a valiant effort by Laura Therin who also accumulated 8 wins, a heavy loss of 11-1 in her final game meant she missed out on the runner up place by just 4 points.
The other competitors in this group were: Alex Thompson and Nicolle Power who played in 3 events, Aaron le Herissier and Matthew Pinel who played in two and Rhys Moody who played one.
The event was concluded with a barbeque for the competitors and their families where the trophies were presented.
